Dingy and Outdated

We block our own light by failing to identify dingy, outdated drapes that need to be pulled back. On several levels, that sounds a bit crazy, right? Imagine walking around your house on a bright and sunny day with all the drapes closed. Of course, you well know all you have to do is pull open the drapes to let the sun shine in the rooms. What if you didn’t understand this very simple process? You would endlessly remain in a darkened house.

These drapes that block the light may be invisible to us, we may not recognize their existence. Self-judgment, limited thinking and beliefs, fears, low self-worth, conditioned habits and behaviors, addictions, and lack of self-love are some of the materials used in the construction of our drapes. You see, very often we have a set of defaults in our mind and they may do little to help us to see what blocks us from the light.

A bit of a dilemma…we can’t address what we do not know. Thankfully, we can! We can become more aware each and every day of ourselves, our emotions, fears, addictions, bad habits and limited beliefs. We can become an observer of ourselves with the intent to heal and create a better life for ourselves. We can expand our reality greatly.

You have done this many times. Think about the battles you have fought and what you gained through deciding there was a better way, by changing how you felt or what you were doing. You became aware, you shifted. My dear friend, you can shift without being in a crisis. You can make your life better today.

I will be writing more on this, so in the meantime reflect on the battles you have won from the very small to the very big and ask yourself how did I make this happen. What did I need to recognize about myself? What materials was that darn drape made of that kept me from the light?
